How To Make The Ultimate Lo-Dough Chicken

The quick and easy way to enjoy healthy breaded chicken.

Lo-Dough Southern Style coating is your answer to the ultimate healthy homemade chicken Kiev's, fish and chips, breaded mushrooms and more. As well as being lower in calories than standard breadcrumbs, it is also low fat and gluten free. Making it really convenient for healthy breaded chicken, fish, vegetables and cheese. It's slightly different from other product on the market and as such needs a little extra attention when preparing to get the absolute best results.

Here's a step by step guide to make the ultimate crispy Lo-Dough breaded chicken with out Southern Style Coating. 

Top tip: Lo-Dough products are made entirely from protein and fibre. As such they're incredibly light but very filling. Each piece contributes significantly towards and healthy high fibre diet.

Step 1: Pour coating into tray or large bowl

Your crumb container needs to be big enough to completely cover your chicken in coating.  

Egg wash

Step 2: Whisk two eggs for the egg wash 

We recommend also whisking your egg wash in a large bowl that will fit your pieces of chicken in it.

Step 3: Coat your chicken first in egg was and then Southern style coating

Ensure that all of your chicken is completely covered in our coating, this will give you a beautifully golden and even crispy coating.

Step 4: For larger pieces, double dip

For larger pieces of chicken, we recommend double dipping your pieces in the egg wash and coating to make sure that every little bit is covered.

Step 5: Bake on a pre-heated, pre-greased baking tray.

Baking your chicken on a pre-heated and pre-greased baking tray will help prevent it from sticking to the tray once cooked. Top tip: spray your chicken with a little spray oil before baking to make the coating extra crispy.

Step 6: Cook your chicken

Cook in a preheated oven at 220°C for approx. 25-30 mins until your chicken is golden and crispy. Ensure the chicken is fully cooked through before serving.
