Can you toast Lo-Dough in a toaster?
Please DO NOT toast Lo-Dough in a toaster. It does not behave like normal bread and will burn far too quickly. In very rare cases it has been shown to damage the toaster or set on fire. For a toasted Lo-Dough please cook it briefly in a pan as described on our How to Use page. Lo-Dough works best when you don't dry it out and use it as a flavour carrier.
Is Lo-Dough gluten free?
Yes, Lo-Dough is gluten-free. We use all certified gluten-free ingredients. Lo-Dough is made in a facility where other ingredients containing gluten are occasionally used. We make sure that all storage and production activity is kept separate and implement policies to avoid cross-contamination. We regularly send our finished product to a UKAS Accredited laboratory to verify that it is gluten-free. However, we are yet to apply for (and therefore receive) an official accreditation of gluten-free status. If you are coeliac and need further clarity on the gluten-free status of Lo-Dough, then we advise you to contact the Coeliacs Association for further advice.
How come it's gluten-free if it has wheat fibre in it?
We use a dietary fibre, made from the wheat plant, which has been certified gluten-free in line with UK and European legislation. This means it has been officially certified to contain less than 20mg/kg of gluten. In fact, the wheat fibre we use falls demonstrably below a gluten level of 10mg/kg.
If you have a severe wheat allergy we do not recommend using Lo-Dough as some of the other wheat-based allergens may still be present.
Is Lo-Dough yeast free?
Yes, Lo-Dough contains zero yeast.
Is Lo-Dough vegetarian/vegan?
Lo-Dough is vegetarian but not vegan as it contains dried free range egg white powder.
Is Lo-Dough dairy free?
Yes, Lo-Dough is dairy free. Our ingredients can be found at the top of this page or here > Lo-Dough Ingredients
Can Lo-Dough be frozen?
Yes, Lo-Dough freezes perfectly, however, most people find that this is not necessary since it comes in pouches of two pieces that have a 6 month shelf life. Once the pack has been opened, we recommend that you consume both pieces within 24 hours, although if kept sealed in the fridge they will last longer.
What is the shelf life of Lo-Dough?
Lo-Dough has a 6-month shelf life. It comes in sealed packets of two pieces. Unopened these packets last up to 6 months without the need for refrigeration. Once opened the two pieces should be consumed within 1 day, although will last longer if kept in a sealed container in the fridge.
Do you use any artificial preservatives to give Lo-Dough such a long shelf life?
No, we don’t use any artificial preservatives. Just a completely natural, but time-consuming, production method that eliminates all pathogens without the need to use preservatives to artificially extend the shelf-life.
How big is a piece of Lo-Dough?
Each 28g piece is around 9 inches in diameter and makes the perfect sized pizza for one.

Cake Bar Questions
Is the Miracle Cake Bar available to buy in shops?
Not yet but we’re sure it will be soon.
What specific intolerances does the Miracle Cake Bar cater for?
The Lo-Dough Miracle Cake Bar is gluten-free and lactose-free.
We are not wheat-free (we use certified gluten-free wheat fibre in our bar), so if you have a specific wheat intolerance we don’t recommend eating our Cake Bar.
The bar doesn’t contain nuts, gluten or dairy… but mentions them in the small print. Why is this?
The Lo-Dough Miracle Cake bar does not contain nuts, gluten or lactose. However, it is produced in a facility that handles nuts, gluten containing cereals and dairy. Though the facility runs a strict cleaning rota between runs, if you are particularly sensitive to these allergens, we suggest the bar is not suitable for you.
Is it suitable for Keto?
Unfortunately not - we know the bar contains only 0.9g of sugar and a lot of the total carbs (21.2g) are made up from polyols - but unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control at this time, we have not been able to have those polyols tested in a laboratory. We will update our information as soon as we have confirmation of these findings.
We will be working on a specific keto bar and other keto-suitable products too - we haven’t forgotten about you!
Is it suitable for Diabetics?
We believe it will be suitable for diabetics since the sugars and starches are very low. The polyols/sweeteners used have a very low GI. However, until we have laboratory tested the impact of our bars on blood sugar and glycemic load we cannot specifically advise that they are suitable for diabetics just yet.
I find the bar incredibly filling. Is it fine to save half an opened bar for later?
Absolutely - please do - just fold the foil over and save the other half of your bar for when you are feeling hungry again later in the day. The bar is packed with fibre and is designed to satisfy the most ravenous of appetites.
