First of all, we want to let you know this: You don't need an expensive waffle iron to make incredible low-calorie waffles with your Lo-Dough. All you need are the widely available silicone waffle moulds that allow you to bake your waffles in the oven. Not only are they cheap, but they are also easier to clean and they produce just as fantastic a result. Find them online or in larger supermarkets.
Making them is simple. Create a batter using:
• 1 piece of Lo-Dough, blitzed to fine crumbs
• 1 large egg, beaten
• 3-4 teaspoons of sweetener
• A little vanilla paste
• 40ml of milk
• Approx 40ml of water (or enough to loosen the batter to a thick pancake batter consistency).
• Half a teaspoon of baking powder.
Just mix all the ingredients into a batter and fill your moulds. bake for 20 mins or so, or until firm on the outside and soft in the middle.
This will give you a portion of two waffles that are only 201 calories, 5g of carbs, but a massive 9.3g of fibre.
