Overnight French Toast

The trick is to get your Lo-Dough soaking in a simple egg mix for a good length of time - you can make sweet or savoury french toast with this one. A great idea is to soak the Lo-Dough in the mixture overnight, so it’s ready to cook as soon as you wake. If not, twenty to thirty minutes will suffice for this simple yet delicious breakfast idea.

How to make gluten free French toast

Quite simply, beat one egg with a splash of milk or any milk alternative you prefer. Then transfer to a tray or plate and lay your Lo-Dough in the mixture. You can cut into quarters to make life easier, or leave it whole - the choice is yours.

For sweet French toast, mix through a little sweetener and maybe a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for added flavour — your Lo-Dough base will soak it all up. For savoury French toast, you could mix through herbs and other seasonings. Finely grated hard cheese works a treat and caramelises and crisps in the pan as you cook the French toast.

Once your chosen mix has soaked into the Lo-Dough, gently fry on a medium heat until golden brown. Pick the fat medium that suits your diet, spray oil if slimming, butter or avocado oil (for example) if following a keto plan.
