When we think of winter warmers, images of thick blankets, homemade pies, and fresh-out-the-oven baked goods are conjured up our minds. However, alongside these delicious images comes the stark realisations that they are often full of starchy carbs and sugars (minus the blanket).

Seasonal winter recipes are hard to come by if you are trying to keep carbs down in your diet. A lot of comfort food tends to rely on filling stodge; be it mounds of pasta, rice, potatoes or pasty. Delicious and comforting stuff, no doubt, but not something you can eat if on a low-carb diet for any reason. Similarly, hot puds are a no go area too...
